Is your Bournemouth home due a lighting upgrade?
Stock up while you can !
I just wanted to blog this month about the upcoming ban on certain types of light bulbs that is happening later this year.
Some bulb types are being phased out in September 2023 and many light fittings are still incompatible with LED.
It’s worth noting that the significant change this time is the ban on fluorescent tubes.
These have proven to be very durable over the years, so getting some spares in now may allow for many, many more years of good service.
The capsule halogen is another one to look out for; these often work with an AC transformer, whereas LED bulbs often use DC transformers.
Light fixtures that use these bulbs could become useless following the ban.
The following lamps cannot be placed on the market after 1st September 2023:
* Linear fluorescent lights T8 2 foot, 4 foot, 5 foot
* Mains voltage Halogen capsules with G9 cap
* 12V Halogen capsules with G4/GY6.35 cap
